Backhand help?

The video at intosport didn't exactly help me and i''m having trouble using a flat 1 handed backhand. Any suggestions? I have the footwork down, but just can't hit the 1 handed backhand comfortably. And no I do not want to change to the 2 handed because i already know how to hit it. I just want to learn both.

Re: Backhand help?

What do you mean by uncomfortably? Is it always going into the net or out?

Re: Backhand help?

The way I hit is like pulling out a sword out of a sheathe, and adding a little windshield motion for some topspin, also try using an eastern backhand grip.

Re: Backhand help?

Depending on what you mean by uncomfortable it may be the distance from your body you are hitting the ball. That is a common mistake for me. I have to remember how far from my body, how far in front and from the side, stretching my arm but not too much, and how high. I usually have to fix my basic flat backhand and then implement it into the topspin backhand. If you fix it please let us know so we may use that knowledge. Thankyou, Tom.
