In this exercise video we’ll look at an exercise to warm up your core. This program combines a lunge and a trunk twist which are both exercises for which there are a separate videos available in this series. You might want to try the lunge and twist separately before you move onto this combined exercise.

As well as warming up your core, the lunge and twist is a dynamic exercise that will also warm up muscles in your legs and arms.

Start in a comfortable standing position with your head up and back straight.

Begin by rotating your arms around you, as you do for a normal trunk twist, and then move into a lunge by extending the rotation through your legs and dropping your knee towards the floor.
