From the very first rally of your playing warm up, the muscles in your arms and shoulders will be used. It’s vital that warm up both, and your chest and upper back – this will improve your performance and help you to avoid injury. In this exercise video we’ll look at an exercise to warm the muscles around your shoulder.

You can use arm circles, swings and chest hugs to warm your shoulder muscles. You can stand on the spot and do each, or combine them with jogging or side steps. To begin with keep the intensity of the movement low and build up as you feel your muscles becoming warmer and more flexible.
