Shock Absorber was launched in 1995 after extensive research by the Shock Absorber Sports Institute (SASI) found that wearing a Shock Absorber sports bra during exercise reduced breast movement by up to 74% – delaying long term sagging. The result was a collection of sport bras designed according to specific Support Levels. Shock Absorber sports bras were also different because they not only focused on cup size but also back size and activity levels, ensuring a tailor-made fit.
Since then, Shock Absorber has become the best selling sports bra in Europe. In 2003, Shock Absorber was awarded winner in the Sports Category at the UK Lingerie Awards for the fifth year running, and in 2007 readers of Runner's World magazine voted Shock Absorber winner of the Sports Bra category.
