In this video guide we’re going to look at a basic practice drill that you can use to develop your chest pass skills. For this drill you’ll need to be in pairs. If you want to practice the chest pass on your own then have a look at the wall chest pass drill.

Key Points:

Point 1:
Make sure that the ball arrives in the chest area.
Point 2:
Keep your elbows low, fingers spread behind the ball and push through from behind the ball with both hands.
Point 3:
Finish with a follow through, so that your fingers are pointing at your practice partner.
Point 4:
Step into longer passes to generate enough power to carry to your partner.
