We have a simple mission: to bring top quality sports coaching and training advice to you, for free. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or already a competent club competitor, a teacher or a coach, intosport.com will help you learn more about your chosen sport, allow you to share your knowledge and experience with others and interact with likeminded sportsmen and women.
intosport.com is for everyone – there’s no trials, no qualifying time, no minimum standard to join our team. In fact the only qualifying criteria to use our academies and resources is that you’re ‘into sport’; that’s why we’re called intosport.com.
Our story began in 2009, when we launched the David Lloyd Tennis School, the web’s leading tennis coaching resource featuring Loughborough University’s top ranked tennis players. In fact, players so good that they were crowned European Collegiate Tennis Association (ECTA) Champions in the same year.
Following that, in December 2009, we launched the Shock Absorber Netball Academy, partnered by Samurai and Mitre and supported by England Netball. The Netball Academy features big stars too – like Jo Harten , the England Goal Shooter, and many up and coming England players like SJ O’Sullivan and Katy Rose. Shortly after that we unveiled the Running Zone, a great resource for runners of all levels, providing articles, hints and tips to help you get moving or improve that PB.
Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be announcing more great partnerships that will enable us to bring you more academies across a wide range of sports, including many Olympic events too.
Our team includes a panel of leading international coaches and players as well as teachers and grass roots coaches too. We also work alongside specialist dieticians, sports nutritionists and other experts in disciplines like strength and conditioning and psychology. Sports coaching and education is developing all the time, and so will we to keep pace with developments. Our HQ is in Loughborough, one of the UK’s sporting hotspots and a town that’s synonymous with elite sporting achievement. It’s also going to be Team GB’s base for the 2012 Olympics. The University has countless famous sporting alumni including Lord Sebastien Coe, Sir Clive Woodward and Paula Radcliffe. It’s inspiring to work in a place where so many great athletes have trained and where so many current and future stars train.
